Please visit the Meriden YMCA website to learn about the registration and medical forms required to attend. All paperwork and medical forms must be submitted to the YMCA the Friday before a camp session begins.

Our Program
MTC (Musical Theater Camp) is MYT’s summer program located at Mountain Mist Day Camp (576 High Hill Rd, Meriden), where we put on a show in just two weeks! We rehearse and perform outdoors under the big MYTent - there is nothing else like it!
6 productions. 4 shows. 1 awesome summer.
We have sessions for students in grades K-12. Sessions are determined by the grade students will be entering for the 2025-26 school year.
We are excited to bring back our Backyard Broadway program just for our youngest performers going into K-1!
This just might be the BEST SUMMER EVER!
How to Register for MTC
To register for Mountain Mist Day Camp, you must be a Y Member (Full time or program membership required).
Before registering, view this document to ensure you are signing up for the correct session. If you are registering in person, you'll fill this paper out at the front desk as part of the registration process. You can save time by printing and filling it out beforehand.
There are 3 ways to register:
1. In person at the Downtown Meriden Y (110 W Main). If you are not a Y member yet, this is the option for you!
2. Call the YMCA front desk (203) 235.6386 during their business hours. (A good option if you need to renew a membership).
3. Register online via the Y website. This option is for families with an up-to-date membership only.
All campers MUST be registered before auditioning. Campers MUST be available for all performances to participate. Check ALL dates before registering!
First time MYT members must complete this contact/information form after registering with the YMCA. It ensures we have everyone's contact information so we can get you audition materials!

Auditions
Auditions will be held in person at the MYT Rehearsal Hall (14-16 W Main) the Saturday or Sunday before a the session begins.
If you cannot attend auditions, a video audition is due before 9 AM on audition day in order to be considered for a role. Videos must be uploaded to Google Drive and the public link emailed to myt@meridenymca.org. We do not accept video files sent as email attachments. If video links are not received by the deadline, you will be cast in the ensemble. Participants who submit videos will receive the same consideration in the casting process as those who audition in person.
Audition materials will be sent out to those who have registered 1 week before auditions.
Rehearsals
During the camp day (9 AM-3PM), MTC will rehearse under the MYTent, Lower Pavilion, MTC Lounge, and Prep Tent. We will also enjoy camp activities like swimming. Breakfast and hot lunch are provided FREE for all campers. Junior and Teen Companies have evening dress rehearsals ahead of performances.

Previous participation does not guarantee a spot this year and space is limited.
Our intern program is for students who have completed 2 years of the CIT program and focases on training students in specific areas of theater (directing, stage management, creative team, tech, etc). Interns apply for specific internships and will interview for those positions.

A True "Summer Theater Camp"
Don't spend your summer in an auditorium - kids already spend enough time in school! MTC rehearses in the fresh air and puts the 'summer' and 'camp' back in "Summer Theater Camp." We rehearse each morning under the shade of the MYTent. Between rehearsals, campers get to take part in camp activities, swim in the pool, play on the courts, and even use the water slide!
The MTC Staff
MTC is run by a mix of educators and MYT alumni who love to share their passion for theater with others. The MTC Staff has been working together at camp for over ten years and loves to see how each summer season continues to raise the bar. As educators first and theater directors second, we cater to children individually and help them develop their skills in small and whole group settings.
